Quan is an incredibly handsome shar-pei pup and FULL of energy. He will need a home with patient owners to reinforce good habits. About this Pei : 
Lena is very active little girl.  She likes to run and will play outside.  She loves her toys and plays with them inside and outside.
Once done playing, she is ready for a nap! Again, she is very active.  She adjusted very well and gets along well with other dogs.  Has been very friendly with everyone she has met.  Rides well in the car and is fine on a leash. Update: 8-24-23:
“Beau” has become one of the most amazing dogs! As you know , he had to be trapped. He was found running with a small dog both looking for food and both were thin. Beau was very frightened and when we got him to our home it was clear that food was the main drive for Beau. As days went by, he became more comfortable and his personality started to emerge. He is very playful and carries all of his stuffy toys out side with him. He likes to “hide” them in the yard and somehow assumes that I will not see an orange stuffed lobster, a reindeer, octopus, hedgehog, etc. etc. lurking in our yard!!!  Beau is very loving and friendly and also a very good-looking shar-pei!! He is very playful and would be a wonderful companion as he loves giving kisses and being close……a very special Pei.

About this Pei : 
Beau came to us as a stray that was found wandering near Sanford Fl. Because of two good samaritans who spent 3 weeks tracking him and finally trapping him, he now has the chance to get care and love.

He is a quiet dog but is responding to attention, petting, good food and is now wagging his tail!!

He has seen our vet and got his ears cleaned (did not even flinch!). He is a good-looking dog, is receptive to being petted, and is eating well.

This is 2 yr. old Reagan. (His original name was Spirit) He is a Shar-pei and is being fostered in Savannah, GA. Here is his story about how he came to be rescued by Schnauzer Love Rescue.

I was surrendered to a shelter after being hit by a car. The amazing volunteers at SLR “pulled” me from the shelter, I was taken to Blue Pearl. I had two broken hips and a shattered pelvis. I had FHO on both hips and the pelvis what just cleaned out and allowed to heal. I also had Entropion surgery on both eyes and my neuter. After healing, I was given a bath and a groom. They thought I was a Standard Schnauzer mix but after a DNA test, it turns out, I am a Bear Coat Shar-pei! I am about a year old and I weigh 45-50lbs. Sometimes I think I am a lap dog.

This is my perfect Family: Now that my legs and pelvis have healed, I LOVE to be outside and run, so I will need a fenced in yard. I am house trained. I like to lay on a soft bed, blanket or sofa. I LOVE toys but my true favorite is a good old fashioned sock! I am not food driven or aggressive. I know I am not a fan of small children, cats or squirrels.

Sometimes I bark when I see people and other dogs but it is because I want to say “hi”. I enjoy riding in the car and I am comfortable on a boat. I have a 2 year old foster sister so having a playmate would be ok too. I would like an outdoor/active family that understands I can be independent and stubborn. I am UTD on all vaccinations, flea/tick and HW meds.

Sharpie is an incredibly handsome boy. His coat is beautiful!!  He needs someone who will guide him in training. He already knows how to sit and will lean on you so that he can be petted. He was found near a busy street trying to find food scraps and was very underweight. His coat was not in good shape, and he needed help. A very kind and caring person stopped, and Sharpie jumped into her car.   From that point, his rescuer took him to the vet to make sure he was okay, and then made sure he was cared for. He gained weight and became a very handsome dog. His rescuer wanted to keep him, but her own dog would not accept another male in her home. All he needs now is someone to love him and give him the assurance that he will not be alone again……..

As the holidays arrive, we welcome little Jezebel to the rescue.

She is blind in one eye and the other eye is not great. She is weak on her legs and this may be simply from her age and a need for more exercise. She CAN hear if you raise your voice and say her name. She will be seeing a vet soon so we can get more information about her health status. She is sweet and quiet….. Having a nice bed and food is essentially all that she wants at the moment. She does have a good appetite, and hopefully, we can get her a bit stronger so that she can get around better.

A quick update: Two weeks have gone by and Jezebel is feeling much better. Her face looks much better and she looks happy!!!

Hi!  My name is Luna

I have been with my Foster Parents for about 2 months.  I believe I have adjusted very well.  I’m very friendly and love taking walks and riding in the car.

Sampson is a very happy dog. His vision is not as clear as it will be once he has surgery but nevertheless, he loves to play and runs around chasing toys, etc. He was abandoned at a convenience store near Valrico, Fl with his litter mate by the owner. He offered the dogs to bystanders and said that he was leaving them at the store regardless, which, in fact, he did . The dogs were brothers and sadly, the other dog got away and has not  been found so far.
I think that Sampson misses his brother, and seems receptive to other dogs when he seems them. He will be a great family dog once his medical needs are fully addressed. He is dealing with lots of issues now but still shows spirit, spunk, and happiness…..he’s just waiting for the right family!

Bruno is a laid back dog who is a bit aloof with strangers but warms up to them. He mostly just wants to be with his own people. The situation is now that there are 3 children in the family and he is not comfortable around the kids. The owner is very upset about needing to place him but understands the need to do so. Bruno will take time to learn new surroundings and new people. PLEASE do not apply to adopt him unless you have a quiet home with Pei experience. He is a beautiful example of a blue Pei and comes from an excellent breeder. He enjoys playing (watch  his videos) and is truly an elegant dog. This is a special chance for someone who truly loves AND understands the breed to own one.

About this Pei : 
Sienna is very friendly and is eager for attention. She loves playing and overall has a very receptive personality. She is fine with a leash and enjoys going for walks. She has a very full tail and really lets you know she is happy to see you when she starts wagging!!

All in all, Sienna is a very easy dog to be around. She shows minor hesitation to new people but that lasts for about a minute! She has a very thick coat with overtones of gray but she is predominantly a chocolate color. Her face is very pretty and she has a very elegant look about her.

About this Pei : 
Polar was  found  west of Sebring, Fl  in a rural area. He was thought to be a stray and was picked up by animal control. His overall coat and health seemed good and because of this we do not think he had been a stray for very long. He was very hesitant with strangers and it has taken a while for him to warm up. He is now very affectionate with both my husband and myself. He will play and run around like a puppy. He wants to be an inside dog that also has a fenced in backyard to play in….a pet door to the outside would be perfect! Polar will be a good watchdog and companion as well. Polar MUST have a fenced back yard and an owner with patience and experience with the breed. His coat is thick like a brush coat but much softer. He is Pei in overall appearance but with a smaller face. He is a good eater and has never messed in his kennel. He has learned to sit, give high five, and down. What a smart guy!!!

Polar will do well in  a quiet home perhaps with a person who works from home or  is retired. He is a mix but as mentioned, his body is typically Pei but with a smallish face. We have grown close to him and really want him to have a chance for a forever home.
