This is 2 yr. old Reagan. (His original name was Spirit) He is a Shar-pei and is being fostered in Savannah, GA. Here is his story about how he came to be rescued by Schnauzer Love Rescue.

I was surrendered to a shelter after being hit by a car. The amazing volunteers at SLR “pulled” me from the shelter, I was taken to Blue Pearl. I had two broken hips and a shattered pelvis. I had FHO on both hips and the pelvis what just cleaned out and allowed to heal. I also had Entropion surgery on both eyes and my neuter. After healing, I was given a bath and a groom. They thought I was a Standard Schnauzer mix but after a DNA test, it turns out, I am a Bear Coat Shar-pei! I am about a year old and I weigh 45-50lbs. Sometimes I think I am a lap dog.

This is my perfect Family: Now that my legs and pelvis have healed, I LOVE to be outside and run, so I will need a fenced in yard. I am house trained. I like to lay on a soft bed, blanket or sofa. I LOVE toys but my true favorite is a good old fashioned sock! I am not food driven or aggressive. I know I am not a fan of small children, cats or squirrels.

Sometimes I bark when I see people and other dogs but it is because I want to say “hi”. I enjoy riding in the car and I am comfortable on a boat. I have a 2 year old foster sister so having a playmate would be ok too. I would like an outdoor/active family that understands I can be independent and stubborn. I am UTD on all vaccinations, flea/tick and HW meds.
