Many of the pups we rescue need serious medical attention, and the medical costs and expenses to rehabilitate them are far greater than normal.
Unfortunately despite all of our efforts and best intentions, some of the pups we rescue are in such bad condition when we get them that they don’t make it. But medical expenses are still incurred in an attempt to save their lives and to try to give them a chance for a happy, healthy life that they deserved but never got.
For these reasons, we rely heavily on donations. These donations are crucial to our existence and are truly appreciated.

Become a Guardian Angel
The Guardian Angel program is perfect for those who would love to help support our efforts, but are not in a position to adopt, foster, or assist in other ways. FSPR Guardian Angels are sort of like surrogate foster parents! Guardian Angels select an Adoptable Dog (or dogs) and then make a One-Time Donation or an Automatic Monthly Donation. That donation will help pay for the care and medical needs for your selected Shar-pei while she/he is in foster care until a permanent home can be found.
We also place a “Guardian Angel” icon on our Adoptable Dog page as well as the individual page of the Pei(s) you have selected to assist. With your approval we can also mention your name or your personal Pei’s name as being the “Guardian Angel.”
You can also donate to become a Guardian Angel to one of our Forever Pei-bies. Some of our rescued Shar-pei have been deemed unadoptable due to medical conditions that either require long-term care and treatment or are considered terminal. These are our forever rescue residents and they need your help too. Learn more »
To become a Guardian Angel, view our Adoptable Dogs page, decide which Pei(s) you would like to sponsor, then complete and submit our “Guardian Angel” form. Please provide the Pei(s) name as well as the amount you would like to donate, after which someone will get back to you with additional details.
