Become A Foster Parent
Short-term foster homes needed!
We are in need of loving foster families who can take care of rescued Shar Pei while they are awaiting adoption. All vet expenses are covered while our dogs are in foster care. And don’t worry…if our foster family falls in love with their foster dog, they are given first right of refusal if another family expresses interest in adopting him/her! What is a foster home for a Shar Pei?
A foster home is a short-term arrangement in which a Shar-Pei rescued by Florida Shar-Pei Rescue receives love, care and socialization in a family’s home.
What will it cost for me to foster a Shar-Pei?
All approved veterinary expenses are covered by Florida Shar-Pei Rescue. You will only have to provide food, monthly preventatives and as much love as you can give.
What if I fall in love with my foster Shar-Pei?
Foster families always have the right of first refusal when a potential adopter is interested in their foster Shar-Pei.

Become a Volunteer
Interested in helping out, but can’t take on a foster dog? Don’t worry, we have other opportunities for you. We are always looking for volunteers throughout Florida and the Southeast to assist with our efforts to rescue Shar-Pei. Volunteers can help with many rescue activities – attending meet-and-greets, posting flyers, evaluating dogs in shelters, fund-raising, doing home visits, transporting…and more. If you can spare even a couple of minutes a week, please contact us!

Become a Guardian Angel
Join our surrogate parenting program and help save the life of a Shar-Pei. A “Guardian Angel” to one of our rescue dogs sends in a “Tax Deductibe” “One-Time Donation” or an “Automatic Monthly Donation” that helps pay for a rescued Shar-Pei’s care, and medical needs while in foster care, and until a permanent home can be found.
We also place a “Guardian Angel” icon on our Adoptable Dog page as well as the individual page of the Pei(s) you have selected to assist. With your approval we can also mention your name or your personal Pei’s name as being “The Guardian Angel”.
This program is perfect for those who would love to help support our efforts, but are not in a position to adopt, foster, or assist in other ways. The “Guardian Angel” program gives you that opportunity, and we can alway use any assistance that might be available.
You can also donate to become a Guardian Angel to one of our Forever Pei-bies. Some of our rescued Shar-pei have been deemed unadoptable due to medical conditions that either require long-term care and treatment or are considered terminal. These are our forever rescue residents and they need your help too. Learn more »
To become a Guardian Angel, view our Adoptable Dogs page, decide which Pei(s) you would like to sponsor, then complete and submit our “Guardian Angel” form. Please provide the Pei(s) name as well as the amount you would like to donate, after which someone will get back to you with additional details.
