Max is VERY sweet with everyone, even the neighbors. Zero aggression. He even loves his ears cleaned!! When invited, he’ll climb up on the couch and lay right next to you or even on you. He Loves attention. He will definitely be a good pet for someone. Max discovered the dog door and lets himself in and out. Max is a dream to walk. Even on a short leash, he’s right by his human’s side. He can be walked with his foster dog siblings without incident and is not interested in other dogs he meets along the way.
MAX does have a few temperament issues that need to be watched closely. He will fight over food. He doesn’t mind his foster mom touching his food, he just wants his food and then the food of the other dogs in the home, too. Problems arise when anyone (human) is in the kitchen preparing food. Max is right there and no other dog better come into the kitchen! He, also, doesn’t want to share the opportunity to greet a visitor at the door. Max just simply doesn’t want to share any potential attention that may be coming his way!
While it may be best to adopt him out as an only dog, this may not be entirely necessary if the adopters are diligent and alpha dog savvy. Clearly this dog has been through A LOT in the past 7-8 years and is very prone to alpha dog tendencies. Despite his past and the results of, he is desperately looking for a forever home, maybe that can be with you?
